Specifically, the FBI wants us to make a new version of the iPhone operating system, circumventing several important security features, and install it on an iPhone recovered during the investigation. In the wrong hands, this software \u2014 which does not exist today \u2014 would have the potential to unlock\u00a0any\u00a0iPhone in someone\u2019s physical possession.<\/p>\n

The FBI may use different words to describe this tool, but make no mistake: Building a version of iOS that bypasses security in this way would undeniably create a backdoor. And while the government may argue that its use would be limited\u00a0to this case, there is no way to guarantee such control.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Signed by Tim Cook himself. I don’t know the legal base to this, but the mere thought that there could be a workaround baffles me. There should<\/del> shouldn’t be an option, even for Apple, to\u00a0circumvent their own security measures.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
